Robotic & Inline fiber laser welding
IPG fiber lasers have added a new dimension to laser welding and cladding operations, taking over the tasks previously performed by CO2 and Nd:Yag lasers.
The 1um wavelength welds faster and with a smaller HAZ than CO2, leaving little or no cleanup requirement. With models up to 50kW, thicker and faster welds are possible over all other laser types. The beam delivery to the head via flexible fibre finally makes possible robotic applications for lasers, and the lower run costs and virtually zero maintenance costs make fiber the most attractive option.
